Review

The story follows four friends who gain telepathic abilities after saving a boy with Down syndrome from bullies in their childhood. The four friends, while on a hunting trip, are caught between an alien invasion and the US government’s military response to said invasion.

This isn’t one of King’s best works but it’s not terrible. It carries many of King’s themes such as supernatural friendships and grotesque topics. The suspense is classic King and the body horror is very interesting.

King himself dislikes this book, stating in an interview that he doesn’t like that book that much and that he wrote the book under the influence of Oxycotin while recovering from a car accident.

Conclusion

A decent but not amazing King body horror.
