It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.
Past Harry Potter novel review:
This book is a wonderful sequel to the first novel; while I did not feel that this book is as magical as its predecessor, it still retains the characteristic Harry Potter imaginative flair, such as the descriptions throughout the book of mandrakes growing up and the side-stories with Dobby the house-elf (one of my favourite characters).
In his second year at Hogwarts, grisly events are occuring and Harry is seemingly framed; the story reads almost like a mystery novel, where details and the truth are gradually revealed. The reader learns about the backstory of Hagrid as well as the backstory of the magical society in general; one conflict which is introduced is that of the discrimination against Muggle-born or non-pureblood witches and wizards. The book takes a clear stance against intolerance and bigotry; in fact, studies have shown that youths who have read Harry Potter are more open-minded.
A story about intrigue and mysteries.
