Fear comes with imagination, it's a penalty, it's the price of imagination.

Review

Former FBI profiler Will Graham is tasked by Special Agent Jack Crawford to track down the serial killer deemed “The Tooth Fairy”. Graham has to face his traumas, including enlisting the help of the captured cannibal Hannibal Lector.

The book is gritty and very vivid. The story is interesting and features many turns and twists. I was especially enthralled about the inner turmoil in Graham as well as the depiction of Tooth Fairy. Unlike the Hanibal Lector films, which focuses on Lector, this book has Lector mostly in the background and focuses instead on the new killer. The Tooth Fairy is creepy but also troubled which made for a very nuanced characterization.

The pacing of the book is also a tad on the slower end and the story feels a bit drawn out, especially in the first half of the book.

Conclusion

A decent thriller with pacing on the slower end.
