I have loved this city. She’s been good to me. I shan’t forget her.
I enjoyed the film Atomic Blonde and I wanted to read the source material, which is this comic. The story is similar to that of the film; the MI6 agent Lorraine Broughton is sent to Berlin to investigate the death of another agent and the disappearance of a list containing the identities of every intelligence agent working there.
Maybe it’s because I saw the film first, I actually enjoyed the film much more. The character designs in the film, such as James McAvoy’s Percival, is much more interesting than their counterparts in the book. The story of the book is also much more cookie cutter. The biggest difference is the artstyle. While the film has a neon neo-noir aesthetic, the comics took a minimalist black and white approach which isn’t as engaging.
A generic spy comic.
