We have unfinished business. One last contract, unfulfilled.
I like to watch movies I’d usually never watch while flying on long-haul flights. This movie is definitely one of them. The story follows Morgan (Henry Golding), a former Royal Marines officer turned assassin. Morgan receives a new contract from his handler and mentor Caldwell (Sam Neill) to kill seven people around the world, but little does Morgan know, those seven people also have contracts to kill him.
The plot is as generic as action plots get and is very predictable. The story also lacks any nuance and is riddled with plot holes. The dialogue sometimes gets overly drawn out. The characters are largely one-dimensional and the performances are largely mediocre. Golding’s Morgan, Neill’s Caldwell, and Noomi Rapace’s Agent Vos are decent, but many characters, such as Jimmy Jean-Louis’ Inspector Leon, feel pointless. The action sequences are decent, but one can tell that the film was made on a budget.
A B movie with a slightly larger budget.
