You can realize your dreams. I do believe that. I believe that can be done because this is what happened.
Led Zeppelin is one of my favourite rock bands so I had to watch their documentary. The doc traces the journeys of the four members Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, John Bonham, and Robert Plant through their childhoods in post-war Britain, meeting together, and their meteoric rise to the top of the charts in the span of a few years.
The film features extensive interviews with the three surviving members, with some archival interviews with Bonham spliced in. Unlike Coldplay in Coldplay: A Head Full of Dreams, Led Zeppelin didn't start as a group of close friends playing together but rather formed through professional connections. It's interesting to contrast their more professional dynamic with the family-like dynamic of bands like Coldplay. The film also offers some glimpses of Led Zeppelin's creative process, such as how they refine their music through touring and performing live. Being a documentary sanctioned by the band members, the scope of the film is solely on the rise of the band's popularity seen through (relatively) rose-tinted goggles. It's be interesting if they'll make a part 2 with some of the more dramatic later years of the band.
A superficial account of Led Zeppelin's meteoric rise.
