Review

This is the film adaptation of the novel Bullet Train. It follows Ladybug (Brad Pitt), an incredibly unlucky hitman sent on a simple job onboard a bullet train. The job quickly goes awry and a complicated plot unfolds.

The story was changed greatly from the source material but it works well. The pacing is fast and hectic which is perfect for the story. This an underlying sense of macabre humour, almost like a Tarantino film. The characters are phenomenal, such as the calculating Prince (Joey King), the comedic pair of Tangerine (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Lemon (Brian Tyree Henry), and the austere father (Hiroyuki Sanada) and son (Andrew Koji). The film is extremely stylish with neon lights and flashy costumes. The soundtrack is very cool and the action sequences are epic.

Conclusion

A chaotic and fun ride aboard a bullet train.
