Hey doll, looks like I let you down again. It's like all my life I've just been going, going, going. Wish I'd taken more time to stop and smell the roses so to speak. Guess it's too late for that now. You're the greatest, baby.

Review

The film follows the story of Chev Chelios, a hitman who has been injected with poison; Chev goes after the people responsible for "killing" him and has to perform crazy stunts to keep his adrenaline high in order to stay alive a bit longer.

I think this is one of the most underrated Jason Statham movies ever. The story is just so wacky and one will be hardpressed to find a single minute without something insane happening. The humour is pitch black and the filmmakers definitely knew their target audience; there were many subtle details worked into the film such as a cameo by Chester Bennington (RIP).

If I could describe this film with one word it'd be "edgy". The music feels like something which would be played at a trashy rave and even the cinematography is trashy, featuring overly dramatic sharp panning and overly-exaggerated shaky shots. Despite how corny it is, it just works in this film.

I wouldn't say this film is particularly deep or insightful; it's entertaining and fun, and some parts even felt surreal.

Conclusion

A very non politically-correct film that's dark and fun.
