Review

Fast Five follows Dom (Vin Diesel) and Brian (Paul Walker) as they plan an audacious heist to steal money from Reyes (Joaquim de Almeida), a ruthless Brazilian drug lord. At the same time, Dom and Brian’s crew is also being hunted by the relentless DSS agent Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson).

This film evolves the Fast & Furious formula from a street racing themed franchise to be a proper blockbuster heist franchise. On Dom and Brian’s crew are many returning faces from previous films, such as Mia (Jordana Brewster), Roman (Tyrese Gibson), and Tej (Ludacris). The crew has great chemistry including even a romance subplot between Han (Sung Kang) and Gisele (Gal Gadot). While the story is nothing to write home about, the action sequences and corny dialogue kept me entertained.

Conclusion

A fun action thriller involving a lot of cars.
