Review

Lou (Rob Corddry), Nick (Craig Robinson), and Jacob (Clark Duke) are back and this time they travel to the future in 2025 to prevent a tragedy from occuring in the past. John Cusack’s Adam is not in this film, and instead the trio is joined by Adam’s son, Adam Jr. (Adam Scott).

The plot is much less coherent than that of the first film and the film also suffers greatly from the lack of Cusack’s Adam, who balanced out Corddry’s Lou. While Duke’s Jacob achieves a similar effect, it’s nowhere near the level of Cosack’s Adam so Corddry’s Lou is allowed to be as crude and unhinged as possible, making the film very obnoxious to watch. There are some funny bits but the vast majority of the film is pretty mediocre. There are some interesting observations about the potential future, such as self-driving cars and decline of car ownership. I also liked Kumail Nanjiani's Silicon Valley Brad character.

Conclusion

Just a generic comedy movie without Cusack.
