If you turn the volume up very loud, it will drown out screams. The horror only comes to you after you’ve seen it, when you get home, in the dark.
This was the last movie I watched on my journey to Asia and it’s a documentary about the films of Alfred Hitchcock. The film covers various techniques Hitchcock uses through his filmography as well as tidbits about his personal life.
The narration of the film is very slow and grave, and I won’t lie, I dozed off several times due to the travel fatigue. Despite this, the film is pretty interesting, especially for Hitchcock fans. I haven’t seen many Hitchcock movies, but from the films I’ve seen, this documentary made some interesting observations. I may rewatch this documentary once I’ve watched all of Hitchcock’s films. One of the prevailing themes is that Hitchcock, while dramatic and thrilling, also enjoys playing games with his audience. I find this very amusing.
A bit dry, but very informative documentary about Hitchcock's films.
