Don't get me wrong, I look away. We all look away. But that is the difference between a man and a king.

Review

King Arthur is an epic about the titular character, heavily inspired by British mythology. The story is the classic tale of the lost heir (Arthur) facing evil to reclaim his rightful throne.

This movie isn’t particularly profound nor is it particularly innovative; it’s just a solid Ritchie film. The are fast-paced and badass montage sequences with excellent editing and cinematography. The pacing is also excellent, with good dialogue. The core of the story is Arthur (Charlie Hunnam) embracing who he is in order to fight against his evil uncle Vortigern (Jude Law), and while the film is not the best work of Hunnam, nor of Law, both actors did a solid job. I also enjoyed this interpretation of King Arthur’s origin lore.

Conclusion

Decent film with great lore and some memorable montages.
