I wanted to set you free.
In this high-energy animated musical, Rumi (Arden Cho), Mira (May Hong), and Zoey (Ji-young Yoo) are members of the global K-pop group Huntrix. Little do their fans know, they are also demon hunters and their music fuels the Honmoon, the barrier between the human world and the demon world. When the demon king (Lee Byung-hun) sends a boy band to compete with their popularity, Huntrix is put to the test.
I personally don't care much about K-pop but my girlfriend does so we watched this together. The story is very fun, predictable, and filled with Korean references. The characters are likeable but mostly superficial. The animation is very vibrant and mostly high quality (I didn't like some of the deliberate frame drops). My favourite thing about this film is by far the actual music used. The songs are catchy and the vocals (by Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami) are fantastic.
A mass market but well-made film with a strong soundtrack.
