• The Silence of the Lambs

I found out that before The Silence of the Lambs, there was another Hannibal Lecter movie. This film follows former FBI profiler Will Graham (William Petersen) as he’s called back on the job to hunt down a serial killer dubbed “the Tooth Fairy”.

The pacing is extremely slow for a thriller. It felt like a soap opera at times with all of the dramatic moments. This film is the definition of form over function. There were many stylish shots but the story was dragged out for way too long. The performances, such as Dennis Farina’s Jack Crawford and Stephen Lang's Freddy Lounds, are decent. The stars are definitely Tom Noonan as Francis Dollarhyde and Brian Cox as Dr. Lecktor. Overall the performances were good but nowhere the levels of The Silence of the Lambs.

# Conclusion

Not as good as The Silence of the Lambs.
