Review

John (Brad Pitt) and Jane Smith (Angelina Jolie) are a suburban couple, but unbeknownst to one another, they both work as professional assassins. They are pitted against each other when they discover their significant other’s true profession.

The movie is a flirty and lighthearted comedy without much substance. Despite this, Pitt and Jolie definitely have great chemistry together, so I can understand the argument that this film kickstarted their relationship. The action sequences are generic and the humour relies on the mundane couples’ conversation topics between Pitt and Jolie overlaid on top of the thrilling action scenes. The humour is actually pretty charming. My biggest gripe with the film is that it feels unfinished with a very abrupt ending to the story.

Conclusion

A very corny story that ends too prematurely.
