In this glossy follow-up caper, the Four Horsemen are back, and this time the four are forced to pull off an impossible heist by a villainous tech billionaire (Daniel Radcliffe).
The story becomes very ridiculous but the magic sequences remain fun and exciting (the card passing scene is probably one of my favourite caper film scenes ever). The setting in Macau is also pretty refreshing. Lizzy Caplan's Lula as the newest member of the Four Horsemen fits in nicely as a replacement for Isla Fisher's Henley. The Jay Chou guest appearance is also appreciated. Unfortunately, the convoluted story and overly forced plot twists do take away from the magic.
Conclusion
A fun albeit shallow followup.
