The thing is, Bob, it's not that I'm lazy. It's that I just don't care.

Review

Peter (Ron Livingston) and his two friends Michael (David Herman) and Samir (Ajay Naidu) decide that they are fed up with their boring and unfulfilling corporate jobs; after a hypnotherapy gone awry for Peter, he rallies Michael and Samir to rebel against their corporate overlords.

I’m sure this film is very relatable for people who’ve worked in corporate environments, especially the exaggerated archetypes such as the obnoxious boss Lumbergh (Gary Cole) and the clueless consultants Bob (John C. McGinley) and Bob (Paul Willson). Even the protagonist Peter is written to be a relatable character, with his common mannerisms and his common situation. My favourite aspect of the film are definitely the memorable characters, such as Milton (Stephen Root) the meek and shy coworker who gets bullied. The humour, while not laugh-out-loud funny, is witty and holds up well today.

Conclusion

A relatable office satire for corporate workers.
