# Review

This is the beginning of the Indiana Jones franchise starring Harrison Ford as the beloved archaeologist Dr. Jones. In this film, Indie is tasked by the US government to the Biblical Arc of the Covenant before the Nazis can obtain its powers.

The film is playful and fun; the action sequences are engaging and the dialogue is very charismatic. Ford’s Jones and Karen Allen’s Marion have great chemistry. The supporting cast, such as Paul Freeman’s Belloq and John Rhys-Davies’ Sallah, are also excellent. The film ages well even today and is engaging all throughout. I also enjoyed the cinematography, in particular the use of shadows for dramatic effect.

The start of an iconic franchise.
