This is the follow-up to the massively successful Rocky. Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) enjoys the fruits of his fight with Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers) but things quickly go wrong and Rocky contemplates taking a rematch with Creed.
Lightning unfortunately did not strike twice. This film feels mediocre compared to the first. The acting is decent and there is more screen time for the supporting characters such as Burgess Meredith’s Mickey and Burt Young’s Paulie. The film loses much of the charm from the first because Rocky no longer felt as much of an underdog as he did in the first film. The relationship between Rocky and Adrian (Talia Shire) is a highlight of the film, though.
Conclusion
Not sure if I want to watch the rest of the Rocky franchise.
