A bus is taken hostage by a deranged terrorist (Dennis Hopper) who threatens to blow up the bus with a bomb if the speed drops below 50 miles per hour. LAPD police officer Jack Travern (Keanu Reeves) boards the bus in an attempt to prevent the tragedy.

The bus speed bomb is an interesting concept and the film is filled with nonstop action. The young Reeves is both vigorous and intense and Sandra Bullock’s Annie has great chemistry with him. While not particularly deep or insightful, Speed is a fun and entertaining film oozing with 90s nostalgia.

An entertaining action thriller from the 90s.
