In the near future, machines have become sentient and they wage a war against humans. In one of the most iconic roles in action cinema, Arnold Schwarzenegger plays a machine sent to the past to kill Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton), who is destined to become the mother of John Connor, the leader of the human resistance in the future.

The plot is very simple but tight and well-executed. The pacing is very effective and the CGI is not terrible for the time and budget. Schwarzenegger plays a cold and ruthless automaton who is hellbent on exterminating Sarah (also probably sets the record for the ratio of number of lines to pop culture impact). The almost slasher-like scenes are fun to watch. Hamilton’s Sarah and Michael Biehn’s Kyle Reese also had an interesting dynamic which anchored the film emotionally.

Conclusion

Such an iconic movie with such an iconic character.
