Am I going too fast for you?

Nah. In fact, I think you should go faster. That way if we crash, at least I'll die. I just don't wanna be kept alive artificially.

Review

Jim Carrey plays Carl, a miserable divorced bank loan officer who has a pessimistic outlook on life and avoids social interactions, including with his friends. After swearing a covenant with the universe at a self-help convention to only say yes to everything, Carl's life turns around.

I actually prefer Carrey in his less exaggerated roles and this film delivers. Carrey's energetic physical comedy doesn't feel forced and Zooey Deschanel's manic pixie dream girl Allison is both charming and brings out Carl's character development. The two do have fun easy-going chemistry, but more like friends than lovers. The plot is very predictable but it's a classic feel-good story so it's expected.

Conclusion

Fun easy-watch with many feel-good tropes.
