# Review

DayZ is a hardcore open-world survival game taking place in a zombie apocalypse world. The gameplay involves exploring, looting, and surviving against not only zombies but also other players.

The game starts interesting but once the novelty wears off, it becomes much slower with occasional bursts of action. The zombies don’t really have any scare factor; the other players are definitely the main obstacles in the game. The game feels like a long and slow battle royale with zombies in the backdrop. The menu is also very clunky on Xbox and I mostly played solo, which isn’t how the game was designed to be played. The game is very hardcore and has many indepth mechanics such as random events, a whole illness system, and even a system for horticulture. The amount of detail is so thorough that there's even a system for growing facial hair. DayZ is definitely not an easy game to pick up.

# Conclusion

A bit too hardcore for my liking but I can see why people spend hundreds of hours in this game.
