By the time you’re reading this, Gundam Evolution would most likely already be offline. The game is a multiplayer only team-based first-person shooter featuring some of the most iconic mobile suits from the Gundam franchise.
The gameplay is surprisingly polished and reminds me of a slower-paced Overwatch. Each mobile suit has unique abilities, strengths, and weaknesses. The player can really experiment with the different playstyles and get good at playing certain characters. The game does get a tad repetitive, especially given the lack of content despite the game being out for over a year. While the competitive nature of the game can be fun, replaying the same two or three maps and gamemodes gets stale very fast. The game is relatively balanced, but certain suits (usually the premium ones) are generally better than others (usually the free ones). My personal favourite is the support focused Unicorn, which has decent DPS and heals nearby teammates.
Unicorn
Honestly the game has some potential but was wasted by poor corporate management and lack of support. I’ve personally never heard of this game until they announced the server shutdowns. Not surprisingly, the player base is dead (at least in North America) and matchmaking takes forever. I also couldn’t find any ranked matches until people set up fixed playing times on Discord. The matchmaking system also has some issues; for instance, if a player or two drops, the entire match is cancelled. The game does have many visual customization options and if one is a big Gundam fan, one might appreciate them. The monetization system is quite aggressive though, and progression can be a slog, especially for free-to-play players.

A decent premise ruined by corporate mismanagement.
