Review

The game, as its title suggests, is a co-op adventure that follows Cody (Joseph Balderrama) and May (Annabelle Dowler), a couple whose relationship is going through a rough patch. One day Cody and May realize that they’re trapped in toy versions of themselves and must fulfill different tasks given by the living book Dr. Hakim (Joseph Balderrama) to repair their relationship and reach their daughter (Clare Corbett).

Couch co-op is definitely a dying breed and both this game and the studio’s previous game are keeping the genre afloat. I played through the game with my girlfriend and it was a blast.

The environments are fantastical and the puzzles are imaginative, especially the ones involving cooperation to solve. The action sequences are also pretty engaging and feel like just the right level of difficulty for both gamers (me) and casuals (my girlfriend). The story is heartfelt and well executed. I like how Cody and May both have their characters develop as the game progresses.

Conclusion

Another amazing co-op experience.
