In this board game, the players assume the role of dwarf miners trying to reach gold. The players must construct a path using cards to reach the Goal cards containing gold. There are some caveats, such as players not knowing which Goal cards contain gold and one of the players being a saboteur trying to prevent the others from reaching the Goal cards.
The game is pretty interesting because there is a cooperative element to work together to reach the Goal cards but also incentive to backstab one another, either as a saboteur or to prevent a fellow miner from reaching the gold first. The game is quick to pick up and is quite engaging. There is a large luck component, as the cards each player gets are random. There is also a balancing component, because having too little/many saboteurs can ruin the experience by unbalancing the game. Some experimentation on the number of saboteurs with each game group may be necessary. The artwork and physical feel of the game are both decent, but not outstanding.
A fun and quick to pick up game about betrayal.
