Review

Season Two of the game continues from that of the first season. The story is now centered on the young Clementine (Melissa Hutchison) as she navigates the post-apocalyptic world without her protector Lee. New characters are introduced, including William Carver (Michael Madsen), the despotic dictator of a survivor community. Some characters also return from the first season.

The gameplay is much the same as the first game, with the core mechanic being making decisions that impact the story. The peripheral gameplay element includes quick time events and point and click levels. To be honest, I didn’t feel the story was as impactful as that of the first; the relationship between Lee and Clementine was the main selling point of the first game and the second game just doesn’t have the same emotional depth without it. I did like the character development, especially that of Kenny (Gavin Hammon) which continues from the first season. I also enjoyed seeing the impacts of the first season on the second, albeit the impacts are largely inconsequential.

Conclusion

Not as enthralling as the first entry but still a solid story.
