And you haven't been a very good boy, have you?
Platform played on: PC
In this psychological horror, a man is meeting his girlfriend in the motel when someone steals his car outside. In chasing after the car thief, the protagonist stumbles upon an eerie town and must remain in the light to avoid being taken by the creepy shadows.
Shadows
The story is really non-existent and kind of corny; it follows the protagonist in solving the mysterious death of a girl while dealing with his own demons. The gameplay, as with the story, is very fragmented and all over the place. Much of the gameplay revolves around solving puzzles to progress through the level but there are some bits where the player must avoid monsters hunting you and other bits where it feels almost like an adventure platformer. The game also has a morality element where the player has to make decisions on the fate of certain characters, but the messaging is mostly lost.
Hiding from monster
Overall the horror elements rely much more on jumpscares but there are some moments, especially near the end of the game, where the atmosphere and setting are pretty well done. The game is also very dark, without much contrast or lighting, which did make it tougher to play through.
Parts of the game with great atmosphere
A game trying to do a little bit of everything.
