Review

The story follows a rookie FBI agent Anne who, along with her partner Maria, are tasked with investigating a case about a missing teen in a small town in Virginia during the 90s.

The game is very artistic, both in its soundtrack and artstyle. The game has no dialogue and instead immerses the player in the rich atmosphere of each scene. The pacing is very slow, especially the walking pace. The core gameplay involves walking around and interacting with different things in each location. It’s definitely a more narrative-driven game and the “gameplay” is minimal.

The story starts very interesting; I love mystery thrillers and this one gave me True Detective vibes. The story however, turns too surreal and abstract near the end. Instead of finally paying off the build-up, the story kind of just fizzles out and feels inconclusive and unfocused. The game is definitely not designed for mass market appeal.

Conclusion

A story that starts out interesting but quickly becomesss too abstract.
