We’re “them”. We’re “they”. We’re the men in black.

Review

I liked the Men in Black films but have never read the source comics until now. In the very short run of the comic series (three issues), the story follows a DEA agent Jay, as he’s recruited into the secretive organization that deals with the occult.

The artstyle is gritty and feels very cartoonish. The plotlines are decent, and unlike the movies, the stories don’t solely revolve around aliens but have other themes such as demons. Both the story and the themes are much more mature than that of the films. Jay and Kay are also juxtapositions of one another in the comics, but Kay is much more of a morally dubious anti-hero character in the books.

Conclusion

I personally enjoyed the film more but the comics aren't terrible.
