Yo man, we gotta talk, seriously. Who do you think you are, Clint Eastwood? Dirty Rosewood?

Review

Beverly Hills PD Captain Bogomil (Ronny Cox) is shot in relation to a series of high profile robberies where a letter of the alphabet is left at each crime scene. Detroit PD detective Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy) returns to LA to help his friends Taggart (John Ashton) and Rosewood (Judge Reinhold) solve the shooting.

The sequel feels very similar to its predecessor both in its style and its substance. On one hand, the first film is a classic and the second film very much carries on its spirit, but on the other hand, the second film feels a tad repetitive. Murphy’s Foley is still charismatic and the buddy cop banter dynamic with Taggart and Rosewood is still entertaining as ever. The generic plot with corny tropes definitely sets the film back, though.

Conclusion

Mindless fun buddy cop film.
