I'm a father now, with responsibilities, and a legitimate businessman. I'm developing a delicious line of jams and jellies.
Previous Despicable Me review:
In the sequel, Gru (Steve Carell) has embraced his role as a father but is roped into helping Lucy (Kristen Wiig), an agent of the Anti-Villain League, in helping catch a mysterious villain who stole an experimental serum which turns all living creatures incredibly dangerous and aggressive.
The film has the same charm as the first; the chemistry between Gru and his daughters is adorable. The Minions are entertaining, and the new characters, such as Eduardo (Benjamin Bratt), Ramsbottom (Steve Coogan), and Floyd (Ken Jeong), are unique as well. I liked the foil between Gru and Lucy but found the character development of Gru to be solid, albeit not as good as that of the first film. As with the first film, the production value is high and the music by Pharrell Williams and Heitor Pereira is very catchy.
A fun family sequel.
