I used to say I live my life a quarter mile at a time and I think that's why we were brothers - because you did too. No matter where you are, whether it's a quarter mile away or half way across the world, you'll always be with me. And you'll always be my brother.
Previous Fast & Furious reviews:
Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham), the older brother of the antagonist from the previous film, vows revenge on Dom (Vin Diesel) and the rest of Dom’s crew. Mr. Nobody (Kurt Russell), a secretive government agent, offers to help Dom and crew in exchange for tracking down the hacker Ramsey (Nathalie Emmanuel) who is kidnapped by Nigerian terrorist Jakande (Djimon Hounsou).
If the plot sounds messy, it’s because it is. The story is all over the place, both in the plot and the locales. There are even some surprising cameos, such as Tony Jaa as one of Jakande’s henchmen and Ronda Rousey as a bodyguard of an Abu Dhabi billionaire. To be fair, no one watches a Fast & Furious film for the plot; people watch it for the action, and the action delivers. The over-the-top sequences are taken to new heights (literally) and it’s pretty entertaining. I was worried that the film won’t be interesting because there’s a new director but James Wan keeps the franchise going. One of the stars, Paul Walker, also passed away during the making of this film and I like how the film pays a touching tribute to him.
Another entertaining Fast & Furious film with a touching tribute at the end.
