Hello Harry Potter my name is Tom Riddle.
Past Harry Potter film review:
Much alike the first film, I found this one a bit too corny for me; it is clear from the dialogue that this film is targeted towards a much younger audience (yes, I also watched this one on 2x speed). I must also echo the sentiment that I found the book superior to the film, especially in the character development of Gilderoy Lockhart (whom I found much more obnoxious in the book) as well as different students' reactions to Harry after the incident (which I found much more malicious in the book).
Despite this I thought, as with the first film, I found that the film remained very faithful to the narrative of the book. There were more noticeable differences than the first book/film pair, such as scenes and details described in the book missing from the film, but the details of the main plot are basically identical between the book and the film.
I did find parts of the film very nostalgic, such as the outdated special effects which reminded me of many childhood movies. I also liked how the pace of the movie is much faster, with more action sequences, which, in my opinion, is better suited for the film medium.
Unfortunately, I'm still too old for this movie but it's an excellent children's film.
