# Review

This film differed quite starkingly from the book; while there were certain peripheral plots left out in the film (such as Winky's background story and the backstory on Voldemort's home), I will go out on a limb and say some of the plot elements are handled better in the film than in the book; for instance, I thought it made more sense that Neville should be the one to help Harry rather than Dobby.

Like the previous Harry Potter movie, this movie adapted the plot to be better suited for the screen; new action sequences were added and subtle details were altered to create a more powerful dramatic effect (especially at the end).

Some changes, such as making Durmstrang and Beauxbatons all-male and all-female schools respectively, is pretty corny; the red herrings throughout the film were also too obvious. Although I did not enjoy the friendship drama in the book, I felt that the movie did an excellent job portraying the tension between Ron and Hermione, especially during the climax of their dispute. I also like how the film accentuated the diversity of Harry Potter through their cast selection; it was pretty cool to see a visual representation of the diversity in the novels.

A solid movie, with a few cringey moments (only some were intended).
