Review

Tom Cruise returns as Jack Reacher, the laconic ex-US Military Police investigator. This time Reacher is involved in a conspiracy that involves a private military organization and the actual US Army.

The story is just ok and lacked consistency in terms of a narrative arc. Individual parts of the plot felt very clichéd are haphazardly combined together. The end result is a very unmemorable film. Reacher’s love interest Turner (Cobie Smulders) is decent but not spectacular. Reacher’s young rebellious ward Samantha (Danika Yarosh) feels largely irrelevant to the main conflict, though. The villains, which include Patrick Heusinger’s ex-military mercenary, are also just okay.

Conclusion

A very generic Tom Cruise action film.
