Did I die and turn into a small muscular boy scout?

Review

The entire cast of the previous film, return in the sequel. In addition to the four friends, Spencer’s grandpa Eddie (Danny DeVito) and his former best friend Milo (Danny Glover) are also accidentally sucked into the Jumanji world. The original avatars from the cast, now joined by Ming Fleetfoot (Awkwafina) embark on a quest to stop the plans of Jurgen the Brutal (Rory McCann).

If you enjoyed the first film, the second is more of the same. Expect action sequences in diverse landscapes and jokes about the characters not fitting into their avatar’s bodies. The story is just as generic and corny as that of the first film, albeit this time there are some themes pertaining to Spencer (Alex Wolff) and his friends, as well as Eddie and Milo. While the humour is generally targetted towards a younger audience, I did enjoy DeVito and Glover's confused grandpa bits.

Conclusion

Another family fun Jumanji film.
