You have to believe me, this was a stupid decision, but I did it with the best intentions.

Review

The conclusion of the film trilogy is not based on a Michael Chrichton novel, nor is it directed by Steven Spielberg. The story follows paleontologist Alan Grant (Sam Neill), who in order to get grant money for his research, accompanies wealthy couple Paul (William H. Macy) and Amanda (Téa Leoni) to Isla Sorna, the site of the second film, for a guided aerial tour. As predicted, things quickly go awry.

The film redos much of the plotline in the first two films and feels as original as its title. The same tropes and plotlines are repeated in this film with some (failed) effort to distinguish itself against the first two films (flying dinosaurs anyone?). The unoriginality could be a good thing if one is just looking for a fun dino thriller that’s predictable with some thrilling action scenes. I also found the writing mediocre and the characters of Paul and Amanda very despicable and unlikeable. I actually found myself cheering for the dinosaurs in many of their scenes.

Conclusion

An entertaining film but with no originality and too many unlikeable characters.
