Review

This is a (relatively) modern reimagining of the Rat Pack film Ocean’s 11. As with the original, this film is about a group of men trying to rob casinos in Las Vegas. The star-studded cast this time includes George Clooney’s suave Danny Ocean, Brad Pitt’s roguish Rusty, and Matt Damon’s rookie Linus. The supporting cast also features many heavyweights, such as Don Cheadle’s Basher, Julia Roberts’ Tess Ocean and Andy Garcia’s Terry Benedict.

Overall I enjoyed this film much more than the original. The story is still fluffy with plenty of corny scenes and dialogues, but the film feels more fun and energetic compared to the original. The action sequences are solid and the cast has good chemistry. There were no standout performances but the cast was overall pretty good.

Conclusion

A charming remake of a classic heist film.
