Review

Retired CIA operative Frank Moses (Bruce Willis) is back and with his elite crew of retired intelligence operatives, he must track down an errant nuclear weapon in Moscow.

I like the premise of this movie as much as that of the first film. The story and atmosphere is still fun and playful. The original cast, which include Willis’ Frank, John Malkovich’s Marvin, and Helen Mirren’s Victoria are still fantastic. The new additions, which includes Lee Byung-hun’s vengeful Han, Neal McDonough’s Horton, and Catherine Zeta-Jones’ Katja, are pretty solid as well. My favourite character has to be the legendary Anthony Hopkins’ nonsensical Dr. Bailey, while my least favourite is probably Mary-Louise Parker’s annoying Sarah.

In some ways the film is very similar to the first, albeit less original because it’s the second.

Conclusion

Still a superficial but fun adventure.
