Review

This film immediately continues from where the second film left off; the human city Zion faces off against the Machine Army while Agent Smith (Hugo Weaving) emerges as a new threat, to both Machines and humans. Neo (Keanu Reeves) must embrace his destiny as the Chosen One to save humanity.

This film feels even less magical than the second film and feels like a generic sci-fi movie. The focus is much less on the story and much more on the action sequences, in particular the humans in the real world fending off the Machine Army. The action scenes are good but there are relatively less scenes which occur inside the Matrix than the other two films. Reeves’ Neo and Carrie-Anne Moss’ Trinity are both amazing and their characters have great chemistry together. The cinematography is pretty cool, especially the visualization of the machine world.

Conclusion

It feels kind of generic but there are scenes which shine.
