Review

This mellow and chill game takes place in a fictional Seattle inhabited by fantastical species like elves and werewolves. The player assumes the role of a barista serving hot drinks to customers and listening to their stories. The game very much feels like a fantasy fiction and more wholesome version of VA-11 Hall-A.

Gameplay Serving drinks

The core gameplay is very similar to that of VA-11 Hall-A, but instead of serving alcoholic drinks, Coffee Talk features only coffee and tea. As with VA-11 Hall-A, I really enjoyed learning more about the world. The world in Coffee Talk is much less extreme than that of VA-11 Hall-A but there are still some interesting facets, such as the tension between different races. As with the world, the characters’ stories are also much more mundane than that of VA-11 Hall-A, albeit with a fantasy twist, such as family issues arising due to racial discrimination. The atmosphere of the game, with its chill lo-fi music, is very relaxing though.

Gameplay Chatting with customers

Conclusion

A cozy game with chill vibes.
