Review

Axe (Damian Lewis) and Chuck (Paul Giamatti) try to salvage the fallout at the end of season 2; Taylor (Asia Kate Dillon) takes the front stage in running Axe Capital and Chuck has to deal with the ramifications of his actions. One area of the season which I really like is the character development of Taylor, who becomes less naive and more ruthless under the tutelage of Axe; I also like the character of Rhoades Sr. (Jeffrey DeMunn), who always provides comedic relief.

I like Chuck’s storyline much more in this season; he has to deal with the Game of Thrones-esque betrayal by his father, his best friend, and also his right hand man Connerty (Toby Leonard Moore). One theme I really liked is Chuck finally acting in a morally correct manner, in making amends with those he wronged and also standing up to authority when the authority is misusing their power. I also like the new dynamic between Chuck and Axe, while still strenuous, the two now share common goals and objectives.

Conclusion

A twist in the drama keeps it fresh.
