Review

This is technically the sequel to the comic series which kickstarted the Kingsman film franchise but it’s no longer done by the original creators and not even distributed by the same publisher.

The new 6-issue comic follows Eggsy as he teams up with an agent from the South African Secret Service to tackle a new global threat. The story is just as ridiculous as that of the first comic series but it lacked the refinement; I felt that at times violence and gore were used to make the comic more mature and less silly. The art was similar to that of the first series but felt a bit less detailed. There were many more action scenes in this series compared to its predecessor, though. I did like many of the new characters, such as Le Fay and Red Diamond’s henchman.

Conclusion

Not a particularly memorable sequel.
