Review

The third film of the franchise, Detroit PD detective Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy) investigates Wonder World, an amusement park in Beverly Hills, when his hardass superior and mentor Inspector Todd (Gil Hill) is gunned down during a police raid gone wrong.

Honestly the formula is getting old at this point. Murphy’s Foley feels tired and less energetic. Furthermore, John Ashton’s Taggart isn’t in this film and the buddy cop chemistry between Murphy’s Foley and Judge Reinhold’s Rosewood suffers from Ashton’s absence. Héctor Elizondo’s Flint is unfortunately not a sufficient replacement. The whole film didn’t feel as joyful as its predecessors and feels much more like a generic 90s action movie.

Conclusion

An uninspiring conclusion to the trilogy.
