Review

Gru (Steve Carell) and Lucy (Kristen Wiig) continue to work for the Anti-Villain League while raising their three daughters. The AVL is faced with a new threat in the former child actor turned supervillain Balthazar Bratt (Trey Parker). At the same time, Gru reconnects with his long lost twin brother Dru (Steve Carell).

The film is decent but not as good as the previous films. There are too many tangent storylines, many of which aren’t really necessary for the main plot and aren’t fully flushed out. The soundtrack by Pharell Williams and Heitor Pereira is pretty catchy and the characters are fun. Parker’s Bratt is especially memorable.

Conclusion

Decent film with some fun moments.
