Review

Indy (Harrison Ford) returns once more on an adventure against the Nazis, but this time in search of the Holy Grail.

This film felt much like a return to form compared to the second movie; the historical fiction aspects are added back in and the fantastical aspects of the story serve more as a backdrop for the adventure. The supporting cast this time around include returning faces from the first film such as John Rhys-Davies’s Sallah and Denholm Elliott’s Brody. New characters include Sean Connery’s Professor Henry Jones (Indy’s father) and Alison Doody’s Elsa. The performances were solid and I especially enjoyed the banter and buddy cop dynamic between Ford's Indy and Connery's Jones Senior. The humour is very clever and the film is able to be funny without releasing too much tension from the scenes.

Conclusion

A strong conclusion to the trilogy.
