Review

In the latest Rush Hour film, Inspector Lee (Jackie Chan) and Detective Carter (Chris Tucker) partner up once more, this time in Paris. The duo must uncover a secret Triad conspiracy when Lee’s friend Ambassador Han (Tzi Ma) is shot by Lee’s childhood foster brother Kenji (Hiroyuki Sanada).

The film follows the same predictable tropes as the first two films. Lee and Carter start off being cold to one another but eventually rediscover their chemistry and friendship. The story is very predictable with some minor twists and turns. The action sequences are fantastic and Tucker’s sense of humour is still very present. The supporting cast, such as Jingchu Zhang's Soo Yung and Noémie Lenoir's Genevieve, all do decent jobs; the smaller side characters, such as the French cabbie (Yvan Attal) and Sister Agnes (Dana Ivey) deserve much credit for being some of the funniest aspects of the film.

Conclusion

The latest iteration of a tried and true formula.
