Review

This movie follows right after Episode IV; while the Death Star has been destroyed, the Empire is as menacing as ever. Han Solo and Leia are being hunted around the galaxy by Darth Vader and Boba Fett, a bounty hunter. Luke studies to become a Jedi Knight under Master Yoda on Dagobah to rescue his friends.

This movie was just as good as the first; the special effects look very good for their age; the AT-AT battle on Hoth as well as the asteroid scene with the Millennium Falcon are both special effects classics. Frank Oz playing the Yoda puppet is one of the highlights of the film for me; he was whimsical but full of wisdom.

This film was focused more on developign the lore, especially surrounding the mystical Jedi Order; the film reveals enough information to help the viewer understand what's happening but not enough to ruin the mysterious feel of the Order. I also liked how the film focuses much more character development than the previous film, especially developing the relationship between the trio of protagonists. I also remember being bewildered by the infamous plot twits near the end of the film.

Conclusion

A more mature follow-up of Episode IV, but still filled with adventure and entertainment.
