Previous How to Train Your Dragon reviews:
This is a very faithful remake of the original 2010 How to Train Your Dragon film. Mason Thames plays Hiccup, the awkward outcast protagonist of a viking village, while Nico Parker plays Astrid, Hiccup's (out of reach) love interest.
This live-action remake is remarkably faithful to the original film. Most of the script is identical to that of the original film, including most of the scenes, which almost translate directly shot by shot. The visuals look great, especially the dragons. The casting is also very effective, most of the actors resemble their counterparts in the animated film. Overall it's a great film if one is looking to revisit the original story, but there really isn't anything new here.
Great alternative to revisit the original story.
